Summer Open $150 Freeze-Out
We had a great turnout for our $150 Deep stack Freeze-Out tournament with 24 players in total and a juicy prize pool over $4000!!
Raymond was the first player out rather early in the tourney unfortunately. Flop came out 4-8-6 and he ships it all-in holding pocket A's and Craig calls with pocket 4's. The turn comes another 4 giving Craig quads and an early chip lead. The river delivers an A all too late...
We make it down to the final table around 4 hours after the start of the tourney and the action is on Danny W and he decides to go all-in with 88, Ryan H also goes all -in with KK. A few players fold but Jason S calls them with AA! The flop comes out A-6-2, putting Jason way ahead, the turn is a 3 leaving Ryan and Danny dead. Danny is out on 10th place and Jason has increased his stack to roughly on par to Brendan N.
Down to the bubble, Brendan moves all in with 88, with Lucas calling with KK. With a board showing 6-9-Q-6-5, the Ks hold and Brendan is out.
Lucas made a move pushing all-in after the turn of 4-K-3-2 having K3. Jason called with KQ. The river came out a 3 giving them both two-pair but Jason's Q-kicker knocked Lucas out for 4th place.
Jason struck again pushing all-in with A3. Todd calls with K,10. J-3-5 was the flop, so Todd had many outs but with just a 9 on the turn, then a 3 on the river, Jason cleaned up with a set, making Todd our 3rd place winner.
Down to the final two, and the chip stacks were going back and forward for a while with a few all-in moves, but the final nail in the coffin was where Jason shoved with K7. Damian called with J8 Diamonds. Board ran out 9-A-6-5 and with the 6-5 being diamonds, runner runner flush was promising but with river being 10 Hearts, Jason took it out with King-high. Second win of the week for Jason, so he left a happy man.
A few days break for poker tournaments before we kick-start the Classic Series V on Wednesday the 3rd. We'll see you there!

Santos Claus came to Town
23 turned up for the Thursday $10 Turbo. The top 4 were Alex M, Kenny P, Jason S and Mark T.
The first to be knocked out was Alex, when his big-blind pushed him all-in. The rest of the table checked the rest of the round. The board showing K, 9, 3, J of Hearts and 3 Diamonds, all the Tin Man El Mayo needed was a heart. Having not seen his cards, he flips one to show a 2 of Hearts giving him the flush, however Mark's 4 of Hearts took the lot.
The next battle was between Kenny and Mark. Kenny Shoved all-in pre-flop with K 8, Mark called showing A 10, flop shows Q-Q-4 but Mark struck again as he hit a Full House with the turn and river showing both A's.
A deal between the last 2 players saw the tournament end with a blind all-in by Jason with J 3. Mark called with K 6.
Board of 4, J, 10, 6, 9 gave Jason the pot with a pair of J's.
Congratulations to our winners and good luck to all those playing in the Satellite tournament tomorrow night.

Hallelujah!
Last of the Weekly Wednesday $20 Tournament's this week before we begin Classic V next Wednesday.
The final 5 decided that 5th place would get paid instead of bubble out, so the top 5 were Andrew A, Jesse R, Tim Br, Karl R and Ryan H.
First out is Andrew, who goes all in holding Q4 vs Tim who has 68. Board comes out K-3-2-2-6.... Not a good river card for Andrew, out in 5th place.
Next up we have Karl who went all-in to be called by Ryan. Holding A4 vs Ryan's 89, it was a disappointing for Karl when the turn came a 9. His stack was decimated, leaving him with an ante and a small blind, so he was all-in again on the next hand only to be called and checked down by Jesse and Tim. Everybody misses the board, but it was a case of kicker trouble for Karl as both Jesse and Tim holding a K, chopping the pot.
Up next Jesse and Tim are facing each other with the flop being 8-9-A. Tim bets $15K and Jesse ships it all in and Tim calls. Jesse flicks over 94 and Tim 7h8h. Jesse is currently ahead. The turn and river come Th-Ah and Tim wins with a runner runner flush.
Final hand of the night Ryan shoves all in with Qd5d and Tim calls with the "Jesus Hand" A9. The flop delivers 5-A-8, putting Tim ahead. K on the turn, not looking good for Ryan. River delivers a brick, a 3. Ryan finishes on 2nd and Tim wins the tournament, well done Tim!

The Return of the Peasant King
Top 4 of the tournament were Alex M, Bill L, Evalyn and Daez.
One of the interesting hands of the night was when Daez straddled all in for $32K. He is called by Evayln who has Q9s, while Daez is holding J8. Flop comes out K-Q-9, a strong start for Evalyn. The turn rolls a T, giving Daez a straight! To rub salt in the wounds, the river is an A which makes his straight even better.
First of the knockout hands, Daez was all in with 65s against Alex who has A6s. Flop comes out 4-9-J with an A on the turn. At this point Daez is drawing dead, and on the river we see an irrelevant deuce. Daez is knocked out by Alex. He has definitely seen better "Daez"
Next up, Evalyn goes all in with AQ to be called by Alex who has pocket 4’s. On the flop we get J-3-9, not great but still a chance for Evalyn. 8 on the turn, not really helping and the river was a 2. Evalyn is out in third place leaving Alex and Bill heads up.
Last hand of the night Bill goes all in with T8 and Alex calls it with A9. Flop delivers a 6-Q-K, and the turn is another 6. Bill needs a T or 8 to win…but nope, a 7 on the river.
Congratulations on winning your bounty, and for trying to take down the Peasant King, Bill, but the Peasant King reclaims his throne for another week!

A new winner for Wednesday $20
We had 26 players turn up this week to play, a total prizepool of over $2k
Bubble this week was: Al Mayo the Peasant.
Final four in the $ were; Todd, Tumua, Pete and Secan. Top four came to a deal for $400 each and the winner gets $850.
Todd went out against Pete with QJ vs AJ, the deal worked out well for him and he got roughly twice the calculated 4th prize.
Pete came out in 3rd place, Tumua had taken a few chunks out of his stack. Tumua raised to 20k pre-flop, Pete called. Flop rolled out 9 Q 5, Tumua pushed, Pete called with QT vs A2. Turn came a 4, river an Ace!! well done Tumua. To be fair to Tumua, he gained his stack with some pretty nice plays before that hand..
Final two came down to Tumua and Secan. The cards ran in the favour of Secan for a while (to the point he was laughing at his luck). The final hand was Tumua with K8 vs Secan with KT. community cards: T K 3 4 4. Secan took out the 1st. It is great to see a new face in a winners photo, well done!

First out was Samer who ended up all in with 6,8 suited against Adam who had A,9. The board was K,8,9,9,A giving Adam a tasty boat and and Samer 4th prize.
Next knockout hand, Sam goes all in on the small blind with A,Q to be called by Adam with Q,7. The flop delivers 7,3,K, Looking OK for Adam so far. Turn is a J which doesn't help Sam. The river comes a 4. Leaving Adam to go heads-up and Sam out with 3rd prize.

The pipes, the pipes are calling.
Tonight we had 26 players come out to play in the $20 R & A. There was no guarantee but the prizepool managed to climb over $1600.
Top four got paid this week, they were, Sam , Andrew, Danny and Aaron..
4th prize went to Andrew who got it all in pre, with a short stack. he got two callers. The flop came out A 2 3. Aaron lead out with a solid bet, Sam folded. It was down to Andrew Q8 and Aaron A6. An eight came on the turn and gave Andrew some outs. A six on the river sealed the deal, Aaron claimed the pot.
3rd went to Sam after a deal made for roughly $500 each for the final three. Sam lost almost all of his big stack in a clash with Aaron, A9 vs AQ respectively. The money was all in pre and the community cards ran out, T 3 4 5 6. Aaron won when his Queen kicker played and he got a nice double s6 stack.
2nd and 1st was down to Danny and Aaron, Danny managed a nce double up for around 70k and got himself back in the game. Shortly after, Danny got it all in with KQ, an aroma of warm cabbage was in the air, and Aaron called him. The dealer revealed, 6 7 3 K J. Danny took it out with a solid pair of Kings and he won his 1st Wednesday for the year.
Well done Danny!

First Tournament of the Year
Welcome back everyone, we have kicked off the new year with a packed out tournament, a couple of players on the waiting list missing out on any game tonight unfortunately, friendly reminder to always get in early to guarantee a seat!
Final table of Aidan's friendly and 9 out of 10 people are keen to split the $2300 pot between them, but with one person not keen we have to carry on playing. After a couple of hours (slow tourney tonight) we get down to the top 5. Lucas, Will, John, Kirby and Danny are the lucky ones taking home some coin tonight.
Danny limps with A8, John shoves with AK, Danny calls, board 3QJK3 and Danny is gone!
Down to four and Kirby only has 20K left, she pushes all in on the small blind with AQ into Will's big blind and he has to call, with 48. Flop comes down KA5, looking good for Kirby , turn a 2 and Will needs a 3 to knock Kirby out and he finds it. Bit rough and Kirby's off to an unlucky start to the year here at DC.
Final three, John ships with 34 off into Will's JQ off. Hard to see John getting out of this one the way Will is running tonight. K 8 10 5 A, four hearts to go with Will's J of hearts and that's the end of John.
Time for Will to take on Lucas heads up, standard heads up play, we see a couple of flops, multiple folds before the final action. Lucas makes a small raise with J7 suited and Will ships it all in with Q10 off. Board comes down 829 no diamonds for Lucas to connect with. Turn is a 4, long shot on the river for Lucas needing a 10 or a 7 and he hits! River is a 10 and we have our first winner for 2016. No photo tonight cause he's a bit camera shy but congratulations to Lucas. If this tournament is anything to go by it should be a pretty exciting year! See you all next time!
