Tough Climb to the top for Sammy!
Tonight's tournament had a great turnout and a healthy prize pool of over $700!
23 entrants ensured that the top four players were taking home some of the cash.
Sammy C, Mark N, Stew W and Matt L were the lucky ones to battle it out for the top spots, but Mark was the first to go unfortunately. Stew went all-in pre-flop with AQ and Mark called with pocket 10's. Mark led until the turn when a second A came out a Stew had a pair of aces. The next hand Mark went all in again with his remaining chips, and wasn't strong enough to beat Stew who managed to flop a boat.
Sammy, with a series of all-ins against Stew and Matt managed to increase his stack to chip leader and taking Matt out in the process. Matt went all in pre-flop with 2J and Sam called with 10 6. The flop was K4J, which put Matt in the lead albeit very briefly. A and Q were the turn and river, which meant Sammy now had a straight. One final all-in against Stew sealed the deal for Sammy winning with his A10 and he took out 1st place! What a turn around, well done!

Ben's Boat Brings home the Bacon
We had 21 people playing in our Wednesday Tournament. With three tables, we had a tastey prize pool of over $1800.
We were reasonably quick to get to the final table, but only four lucky people made it to the money. They were Brendan N, Ben R, Chris K, Carl W.
The first to strike was Carl. Chris was all-in with K-7(h), Carl calls with 8-3o. Board showed 9-4-8-3-A and Carl's two-pair was enough to send Chris packing.
Carl then tried to continue his streak, all-in with A-8. Ben calls with A-K. But a board of A-2-9-K-Q see him go home with 3rd place.
Final hand had Brendan all-in with J-10. Ben call with a pair of ducks. The flop comes out 7-9-8. Flopping the straight looks good for Brendan, but with 8 turn and 2 river, Ben seals his spot in first with his runner runner boat.
Congratulations to our winners.
The fun continues on Thursday with our $10 Thursday Turbo Tournament. Free entry, $10 addons and rebuys. We'll see you there!

Sam's in it to win it!
The tournament wrapped just before midnight and the final table made for some interesting action. With 22 entrants, cash prizes were given for the top four places but the Tournament Director couldn't count for a second and thought that the fifth person out was supposed to get a prize too. I gave him a drink for my mistake. My bad.
The players battling it out for the prizes were Liam C.S, Sam C, Gavin B and Andrew A. Sam manages to take down everyone else for the top spot. First to go was Liam. Sam raised to 15K preflop and Liam shoves all in with QQ and Sam calls with AK off-suit. The flop comes out with a diamond flush draw for Sam and runner runner diamonds secures Sams win.
Next Sam took on Gavin to beat him with a full house over a pair, and after a few minutes of heads up play, Andrew unfortunately wasn't strong enough to take on Sam's pocket Queen's and win. Sam took the first place prize with two pair. Great work Sam!

Chop It
Final five was taking a while with no one willing to call any all ins so the players decided to give fifth place some money each. With that decision made we had a three way all in knocking out Matt and leaving Greg, Brendon, Mark and Andrew to fight it out for the real prizes.
Soon after Andrew was all in with 76 and Greg with KJ, Flop was 7K3 and not looking good for Andrew, turned a 10, rivered a 2 and Andrew left with fourth prize.
The remaining three played patiently for awhile, we had a couple of all in scenarios that ended up being chopped but no one managed to knock anyone else out. The final three decided to chop the remaining prize money between them and all went home equally happy.

Battle for the Winter Bounty Winner!
The Winter Bounty Tournament kicked off at 12pm with players registering right up until the beginning.
With 21 players and a healthy prize pool of a little over $2,600, there were four places to be won.
At the final table we had 2 players bust out at the same time to leave 5 players in. A short while later a three-way all in left Greg S. out of the running for the cash and Ryan H. just able to hang on for one more hand to claim the fourth place, as well as three bounty's.
Gary T. was the next to go shortly afterwards when Charlotte called his all-in and managed to finish with a flush.
Playing for the top two spots were Charlotte B. and Aaron McT. after a short while of heads up trying to get the upper hand, they both remained pretty evenly matched but an all-in by Charlotte quickly changed that. Aaron called her all-in with an A7 while she had K9. With a 7 on the flop, Aaron was leading right up until the river when a K turned up. This left Aaron with only 2,500 left and was all-in again the next hand.
Unfortunately he was unable to get the better of Charlotte and lost out to 2nd place as well as three bounty's and Charlotte took out the lot. Well done!

Two More for the Tournament!
With 16 players and $384 in the prize pool we were able to offer two seats to the main event with a little left over for a third prize.
Finishing up just before midnight, with only three players remaining, Ray W. realized he was unable to attend on Saturday. So he decided to go all in with A2 to which Ryan folded and Andrew called with Q8.
Andrew was winning on the flop with a pair, but Ray overtook him on the turn and finished with two pair, knocking Andrew out.
The two seats were won by Ray and Ryan M, but as Ray was unable to attend his seat was transferred to a friend.
We wish the best of luck to everyone who won seats to the $150 Winter Bounty Tournament, and if you would like to try your luck on Saturday, the tournament starts at 12pm and you can register at the cash desk at any time leading up to the event.

Big Turnout for Midweek Poker.
Tonight we had 31 Players in the Weekly Wednesday Tournament. The prizepool was just over $2,400 and we paid out five placings.
Cashing this week were: Chris R, Alex M, Greg S, Tom V and Chris K.
Chris K went home in 5th against Greg, QT spades vs KJ spades. Greg hit his Queen on the flop but there were also two spades and a gut shot for Chris to hit a straight. Greg sweated out the turn and river and his pair was good. Q 7 A 8 3.
Alex the Peasant Maynard had an exceptional tournament (Including two sets of Quads) until he lost two big hands in a row whilst holding stronger Aces. Greg put the nail in the coffin, knocking him out in 4th place via an Ace high flush.
Greg, sitting on a big stack pushed all in with pocket 5's, Chris R called him with KQ. T 4 T A 3 on the table. Greg's pair held up and Chris took home 3rd prize.
Heads up was between Greg and Tom. Stacks started out heavily stacked towards Greg but they soon balanced out. A deal was made when they were close to even, there was no soft play after the deal, these two were out for the glory. They played out for about 20 minutes until the final hand. Before this hand was a preflop showing of AA vs 72 resulting in a good laugh. The final hand, Greg pushes all in on the small blind and Tom called, AT vs J9 (both suited with clubs) 6 A Q T 7 came out. Greg had a sweat when the turn gave Tom the open-ender but his pair of Aces held up on the river.
Greg also was the lucky winner of the $150 Winter Bounty entry for this Saturday at 12.00, let's see if he reads the whole post and finds out!!

Sam the Man
Small turnout for the Free-entry Thursday Turbo, with 14 players fighting for the prizes.
Our top 3 going for these prizes were Ronnie, Damien L and Sam Cr.
Ronnie and Damien end up all in against each other. Ronnie is holding AQ and Damien K5 suited.
On the flop we get 5-J-5. This puts Damien well ahead. Turn is a 2. Ronnie's hand is now dead and with another 2 on the river Damien knocks him out with a boat, 5's over 2's.
Over the next few hands Damien loses the majority of his chips, but then manages to win a few more and get to a more even playing field.
Last hand for the night, Sam goes all in with K2 and Damien calls with Q7 suited. The flop delivers A-3-J, not helping Damien at all... Turn is a 5. Gutshot for Damien now, or either of his cards will do! Final card is an 8. Damien out on 2nd place and Sam wins with his K. Well done Sam!

Ryan Runs Riot
Another Wednesday night of Poker at Dunedin Casino and we had the pleasure of 19 players tonight playing for a pot of just over $1900!
4 prizes were being payed tonight and the lucky ones to take away one of the prizes were Ryan H, Ray H, Des C and Damien L.
First one to take a prize was Des, which may have been karma. His pocket Js against Ryan's Q 7. Flop was 6 2 4. Looking good for Des thus far until the turn. A sneaky Q then a 10 on the river.
A 3 way all in next. Ryan has K 5, Ray has 2 9 and Damien has 6 2. The flop is J Q 9, turn 5, river 3.
This seen Damien finish up in 3rd possy. He was then welcomed at the cash game.
At this point Ryan pretty much had it dominated with over 95% of the chips. But Ray was lucky enough to double his when his pocket 6s with 2x10s on the board was too much for Ryan's 5 7.
This will be the final hand coming up. Ryan all in A 2. After a little hesitation and reluctance, Ray calls. 9 3. Flop reveals 4 10 2. Surely Ryan doesn't win with a pair of 2s!! Turn J, river 4. Sure enough he does. Pair of 2s hold and we have a champion.
Congratulations Ryan and thank you all for coming tonight.
