Flushing The Competition

The Tournament filled out with two tables and 20 entrants this week. The prizepool sat just under $2,000.

Top 4 this week went to; Pete, Chris S, Martin and Tai.

Martin called a push from Pete with very close stacks. Hole cards: Pete 52, Martin A7. The board came out 3 K T 6 K. It was revealed how close the stacks were after a count ($100 change for Pete).

All in for a partial Ante', Pete got isolation from Tai holding KQ(sp) against K3. Tai flopped a flush, Pete tried his best to catch up (to no avail), hitting two pair on the turn. (3 J A(sp)) K 2.

Chris pushed UTG for 111k chips, Tai pushed for 50k on the SB, Martin folds 77's on the BB. Hole cards: Tai 99, Chris K8(cl). The flop came out; 6(cl) 7 A (Martin did not regret his fold too long), Turned 2(cl), River J(cl). Chris knocks out 3rd place with the 2nd nuts.

Chris and Martin exchanged a few blinds sizing each other up. Final hand: Chris called the BB for 12k, Martin checked. 2 (6 5(sp)) came out on the board, Martin pushed, Chris called. Martin held 10 5(middle pair), Chris had 98 in spades (flush draw). The turn delivered a Queen... And do did the River... A Queen of spades!  Another flush, another knockout. Well played!

Winter Wightout

We had a modest turnout this week (snow). Top 3 were paid a stake of $1275.

Peter went head to head pre with Greg, Peter A7, Greg J9. The board ran out without hitting any hole cards, sending Greg home as the bubble this week. 4 3 K T 8.

Peter had been building up his stack for a couple of hands. Peter seeked blood from Ray, who had stolen a BB off Peter earlier (an important BB).  Peter pushed pre-flop with K4, Ray called with the hand which cannot lose, 22. Flop came out 7 7 2! The King on the turn gave a sweat for Ray, promptly ended by an Ace on the river.

Ray and Todd were the top two this week. Todd had made an epic climb from 4BB's around an hour earlier, he now stood the big stack. The first heads-up hand was the final hand. Ray pushed on the Button with Q9, he got called by Todd with 77. The board flopped a pair of 6's, T 6 6. The turn paired the board once more when another Ten came out. The river was an anticlimactic 3.

Dan Wins!

Tonight we had 21 players playing including a few new faces.
Andrew, Dan, Rayel and Todd outlasted the rest and took home some of the $1500 prize pool.

Fourth place went to Andrew, Dan got it in real bad with 8Q against Andrews pocket tens. Dan hit his queen on the flop which held.

Next we had a flop of 72T all spades, turn was a 4 of clubs then river 5 of spades. Rayel shoves and Dan calls with the ace of spades in his hand and knocks Rayel out.

Final two and Dan has Todd stacked, Dan goes all in with pocket tens and Todd calls with K4, this time tens are good and Dan takes the win.

Heads up Battle

22 players and a prizepool of $1,900 this week with 370k tournament chips in play.

In the top four we had: Mau, Kieran, Danny and Josh B.

After the bubble top 4 played it out for around 20 minutes before 4th place was claimed. Danny and Kieran saw the flop without any aggression pre.  Danny bet out the min on a 7 8 9 board, he was raised all in by Kieran, Danny called. Danny was holding the nut straight (JT) up against Kieran with top pair (93). Without a runner runner, Kieran took home 4th place.

Josh found himself on the SB with a 2BB stack and pushed with 96 in the hole. Mau on the BB called him with 42. Mau hit his two in the window and it held up against Josh. Community: 7 J 2 Q A.

Danny and Mau played out heads up for the best part of an hour. About 30 mins in, the two found themselves equally stacked and made a deal. The two were still playing it out for the glory and the extra $125. Danny bet out for $30K and was confronted by an all-in, Danny called. On the board we had 9 7 5 with two spades. Danny had A2 (suited in spades), Mau had T5 (pair of 5s). A queen came out on the turn, it was followed by an Ace on the river. Danny takes it out with a pair of Aces.

Mok at the Top

A quiet afternoon of poker at Dunedin Casino saw 13 players come and play the PLO 6-Max Deepstack Tournament. All of them after their share in the 2.3K prize-pool.

After a slow and steady tournament, we made a final table. Top four were Danny W, Zane L, Mok H and Matt S.

The first two to battle it out were Danny and Matt. In the red corner was Matt with A-8-9-K, and in the blue corner was Danny with A-J-10-K. Danny raised pre-flop, Matt shoved, Danny called. 

Board was 8-6-9-4-5 and Matt's 2-pair took the win. 

Next to take a stab at it, was Zane. Having lost a few decent pots previously, he was bottom stack and shoved all-in pre-flop with 6-J-K-Q. Matt called with Q-3-A-3. The board showed 7-5-10-9-7 and Matt's 3's were enough to take out another opponent. 

Last two in the ring were Matt and Mok. There was a bit of back-and-forth for a while, but a few heavy blows by Mok saw Matt's pile getting smaller. Matt eventually shoved pre-flop with 6-5-6-10, Mok with Q-10-4-7. Board was Q-K-3-3-8 and Mok's 2-pair knocked-out Matt and he took the victory.

His to Win

28 players and a prize pool of $2,100.

Top five got paid this week: Todd, Chris S, Henry, Greg and Danny.

Danny pushed for 10k and got the call from Chris. Danny with KK against QT. Danny flopped his set, Chris turned his straight, no boats on the river. Community cards: A K 4 J Q.

Next to get it all in against Chris was Todd, he pushed all in for 32k. Todd with A5 vs A9. The flop J 3 3, the turn paired Todd, the river out paired Todd with a 9. A 3 3 5 9.

Chris raised UTG to 18k, Harry called shy of the full amount. 8T up against 44. A ten in the window left Harry in need of a 4... No such 4 arrived.. J T 3 9 8, Chris winning with two pair, Harry taking 3rd.

Greg and Chris played it out heads up. Chris had a chip lead of around 40:1, despite this, some surprisingly chaotic hands:

Greg was all but all in on the BB 6/8k chips. Chris Pushed him all in for his last chips, Chris with J5, Greg holding 98. Greg flopped a pair on the flop, rivered two pair and finally flopped a boat on the 7 Q 9 8 9 board.

the next action we had was Greg pushing on the SB with K2, called by Chris with 44. 3 A K T 2 gave Greg two pair and around 30k chips.

Chris pushed, Greg calls, A3 vs KQ. The flop gave Chris an open ender, the turn a seven high straight, the river an 8 high straight (Counterfeit split). 4 5 7 6 8.

Greg pushed into Chris with 95, some time passed, Chris made a loose call with KK. T J 2 K 6, dead on the turn.

Well done to Chris on a dominating the tournament, also to Greg for staying in the chase until the end!

Snowmen Arrive Early

This week we had 19 players and a prize pool of $1,200. With 19 entries we paid out top 4, they were: Ray, Ray, Rayel and Gary.

Final four play lasted all of 20 minutes.

Gary bet all in into Ray Wo with AJ and got called with AT. The board ran out; 5 Q 6 7 7. Nobody hit the board and Gary's J played.

Rayel min raised UTG, Ray Wa re-raised all in and after a bit of thought, got called by Rayel. Hole cards; Ray K8, Rayel J8. Rayel hit his Jack on the flop. The river was null when another Jack was turned. J A 2 J 5 on the board.

Rayel and Gary were our final two and they only lasted one hand!! Gary pushed on the SB and Rayel called. A7 against 88. The flop came out 7 J J giving both players two pair, Queen on the turn and another Jack on the river. Rayel took out the tournament with a Full House J's over 8's.
