The Brit took it out.

What an awesome turnout we had for the Thursday Turbo Tournament. 30 people - including a number of newcomers - turned up to play. With three full tables at one point, it was looking like it would be a good tournament. We had a number of international visitors playing as well with a group of people from France as well as a few from London.

Top five were paid this time, and our final table consisted of Lydia N, Robert M, Tumua I, Chris A and Sam C.

Sam was the first out, all-in with 10-9o against Lydia's pocket Ks. Three 5s on the board gave Lydia the boat and Sam went out in 5th place.

Tumua was the next to go all-in. With K-10o, Robert calls with pocket 7s. The board shows 9-9-Q-J and Tumua's straight was looking good, a 7 on the river made Robert's boat and Tumua was out.

With Lydia all-in for less than the big blind, everyone had called. Her K-10 was no match for Chris' 4-2 as the board was 2-2-8-3-A. This guaranteed newcomer London boy Chris in the top two and Lydia settles for 3rd.

It was long into Heads-up before both Robert and Chris were both all-in. Chris had A-10 and Robert had pocket Ks. Board 2-A-4-7-5 gave Chris a pair of aces and the tournament win. Congrats to him and thanks to all those who came and played.

The Deck does requests... If only the Players knew what to ask for...

Dunedin Casino Poker $2000 Guaranteed Will

Tonight we had 24 Players turn out for the weekly Wednesday $2000 guarantee Tournament.

Top four got paid out this week. The final five were, Will, Mark, Damien, Karl and Greg.

Mark went out on the bubble with AT vs QQ. There was a bubble deal among the players, so he didn't go home empty handed.

Next home, in fourth place was Damien. He found himself short stacked and out of time. He went all in with Q8 and got called by Karl with KQ. 4 6 7 3 Q on the board, not the card Damien wanted to hit on the river.

There was quite a bit of play three handed. Here are a few hands in sequence:

Karl had found himself short stack, around 8k chips, after getting unlucky the previous hand, to Greg. He was all in blind, Greg called his bet to try finish him off. Karl ended up being ahead with his blind hand, A3 vs QK. 5 2 9 4 8, a double up for Karl and he is back in the game (still a major short stack).

Karl managed to work his way back up to around $45k, through pushing all in and stealing blinds. Eventually the blinds fight back and Will calls him. Karl A9 and Will with AT, the flop came out with three hearts, the turn delivered a fourth, giving Karl the nut flush to his Ace. 6 7 2 4 J.

A seemingly dead board got Greg all in against Karl on the turn, T 5 8 3, both players had two pair, Karl had T3 and Greg had 53. Greg called for a three on the river to give him a full house..... and BOOM!! He got it. A slight lapse of judgment, forgetting that the three would give Karl a bigger full house. Should have asked for a five. Bad luck Greg.

A few hands into heads up between Will and Karl: Will bets 20k pre and Karl goes all in, Will calls. QQ vs Karl's A7. T 5 9 4 with three hearts came out, Karl calls for a fourth Heart.. once again the deck is delivering on requests with a J of Hearts.. It was a pitty for Karl that Will got a larger flush on the river.

The final hand wasn't very eventful. Will was all in against Karl's short stack, A4 vs J7. Will got a pair of fours on the flop, and it held up. 4 Q 3 9 5.

A special mention to Chris who managed to sneak into the final table, he survived the previous hand all in for an ante six way with a $100 chip!

Thanks everyone for a great tournament.

A Bountiful afternoon at Dunedin Casino

It was an awesome turnout for our Easter Deep-stack Bounty Tournament today, with 23 players all eager to claim the prize and all the bounties. A slow and steady tournament as people were playing to stay in as long as possible.

Hand of the Day went to Kirby as she shoved all-in with K-J(h) against a pair of 7s. She scooped the pot with a Royal Flush on the turn.

The final table was again, steady and cautious. But our final four were Charlotte B, Ryan H, Alex M and Danny W.

Charlotte was the first knocked out with her pocket 4s against Alex's A-Q. With A-9-5-J-9, Alex's 2-Pair were enough to take out his opponent and claim her Bounty. Charlotte still had a couple of bounties under her belt though, so she didn't leave empty-handed.

Alex was the next to go, all-in with A-2 against Ryan's pocket Js. The Js held with just a pair of 8s showing on the board. Alex left with a fairly nice third place prize but also had 8 bounties (the most obtained for the day).

At Heads-up, Ryan shoves all-in with Q-7, Danny calls with A-4. A flop of A-10-9 shows promise to Danny, but 7 on the turn and Q on the river seals his fate and Danny walks away in 2nd. Ryan claims the victory as well as 6 bounties. Congratulations.

Classics V continues on Wednesday with a guaranteed prize pool of $2000 and bonus points up for grabs.

Pete Pete Could not be Beat

A great turnout for our Thursday Turbo Tournament with two full tables and a prize pool of over $800.

In the final table we had Jason C, Pete H, Brendan N and Eva L.

The first to go out was Jason, all-in with A-2o against Pete's K-9(c). Pete took the pot with the flush.

Pete claimed his next victim when Eva was all-in with 4-3o. Pete's Q-2 was good enough and a pair of Q's sealed Eva's fate.

Pete struck while the iron was hot as Brendan was all-in with 4-2o. Petes pocket 8's were looking good with a flop of 10-8-A. The turn and river of both 10's gave Pete the boat and the first-place victory.

An honorable mention to Bryn as he was down to just $200. The first all-in with 5-3 saw him win with a set of 3's. He went all-in next hand with A-Ko and took the pot with an impressive quad A's.
All-in for a third time with A-5 against A-J, he again took the pot rivering a pair of 5's. He made it to the final table with a significantly better stack but was unable to make it to the end. Better luck next time mate.

Join us on Sunday for the Easter Bounty Tournament kicking off at 2pm.

Where There's a Will, There's a Way!

Quite a small Wednesday Classic Tournament this week, only 17 players. More of you should have shown up, you missed out on some food platters!

On final table, both Jeremy and Sammy did double knockouts! Jeremy busted out Chris S and Gary T. Sammy busted out Jason C and Marc N.

Anyway, the top 4 decided to pay out the bubble, with the top 4 being
Will S, Jeremy P, Sammy C and Andrew A.

Will bets $8K and Andrew goes all in with KJ, Will calls holding AJ. Board is 7-2-7-T-2. Will knocks out Andrew with 2 pair, A kicker.

Next of the knockouts, Will and Jeremy are at the flop, board so far is A-7-5, with 2 of the cards being hearts. Will bets $32K and Jeremy ships for about $3K more, instant call from Will. Jeremy rolls over JJ and Will rolls Q8 hearts. Turn gives us a 4, not hearts. Jeremy still ahead. On the river we get T of hearts... Will busts Jeremy with a flush!

By this time, Sammy has made a major comeback, down to around $3K earlier on the final table, he is now heads up with Will. Preflop, Sammy bets $12K, Will calls. Flop is 7-2-T, both check, turn is an 8. Will bets $12K, Sammy shoves, Will calls it. Will shows 96 and Sammy shows 85. Sammy is dead as Will has the straight, 6-T. Well done Sammy for the awesome comeback and well done Will for winning the tournament!

Thursday Turbo Tournament

Rather small Thursday $10 Turbo this week, with a total of 19 players.
Top 4 were Jesse Row, Chad M, Jeremy P and Mark N.

First of our hands we have Chad go all in pre-flop with A8 to be called by Mark with AT. Flop comes out 6-5-7, giving Chad the flush-draw. Turn is a T putting Mark in the lead. The river delivers a Q, Mark beats Chad with a pair of T's.

Up next Jesse  is all in with K4 against Mark who has KT. Flop comes out 8-T-7, putting Mark ahead with his pair of T's. TUrn is an A and river is another T. Mark sends Jesse home with a 3 of a kind T's.

Finally, Mark and Jeremy decide to do a chop and play one last hand for the the remainder. Mark's cards are Q5 and Jeremy has 84. Board comes out 7-K-J-4-K. Jeremy wins with 2 pair, K's and 4's. Well done Jeremy!

Knockout Tournament, Big Hit.

Wednesday's Classic Hold'em Poker Tournament Winner "Ryan Hunter"

A solid turnout for this weeks classic Tournament. We had a total of 26 players come in for the knockout bonus point week. The prize-pool finished, just shy of $2400.

Top four got paid, they were; Ryan, Nic, Chris and Mark.

Mark went home with fourth to Nic. The prize was a bit over $200.

Next out, in third place, was Chris, he went out against Dog the Bounty Hunter (Ryan).

Final two were Ryan and Nic. Heads up went for some time until the final hand. The hand got to the flop before Nic went all in with top pair on 9's, Ryan did not hesitate to call, with his AA in the hole. Nic 9,5. Ryan AA. Flop 9 8 6. The turn came a 6, giving both players two pair. The river came and hit Nic's 5, just to rub some salt in it. Ryan finished the hand and tournament with, two pair, Aces and Sixes.

Well done to all those who got knockouts this week, they received 50 bonus points, per knockout,  towards the leaderboard.

Bryn it on!!!

23 Players turned up for the Thursday $10 Turbo Tournament, all competing for a tasty prize pool of over $840.

In the top four we had Pete H, Danny W, Tom H and Bryn N.
As soon as the bubble was knocked out it was looking like it was going to be a quick finish when Danny shoved all-in with pocket As.  Bryn snap-calls and also shows pocket As, however, with a rainbow flop it was clear it would be a chop.

Pete was the next to go all in with pocket Qs.  Tom calls with pocket 7s.  The flop showed 3-K-6 of clubs.  The turn (7c) wasn't enough to keep Tom alive as Pete took him out with a Q-high flush.

Next to go was Danny.  All-in with Q-3, Pete calls with 10-K.  With 8-2-10-J-6, Pete's 10s hold and Danny walks away with 3rd place.

Down to the last two and after a few back-and-forward pots, Bryn makes his move. All-in with A4 diamonds.  Pete calls with 78o.  7-J-4 on the flop looked promising to Pete, but the A on the turn left Bryn with first place and smile on his face.
Congratulations!

Only a Classic makes Classics!

Wednesday Classic No Limit Holdem Poker Tournament Winner Greg Scott
There were 21 players tonight playing for a share of the $2k prize pool. There were 4 prizes up for grabs and those fortunate enough to be in the top 4 were Will S, Alex M, Greg S and Ray W.

First to go was Will. He was up against Ray. Will has J 10 Ray has K Q. The flop was very favourable for Ray being 6 Q Q. Turn 9 and river 4. The face of poker last week is no more.

1 down, 2 to go were the winners thoughts. Greg's turn to try something on going all in with A 8. Alex eventually calls exposing his A 9. Close to call this one. Dealer flops out 8 7 2.....7..6. Wow nice move there by Greg to double his stack.

Alex wants some of his stack back but this time he's looking at Ray. Alex is all in. Ray must call with A Q. Why not when you're up against Alex's 8 5! Flop is 4 2 3. Still anybody's. Turn is an A. Boom! Alex hits a straight. Only a 5 can help Ray now for a split pot but it's not to be because it was a 4. Just what the Pro ordered.

Time to get down to business and eliminate some of these players. Greg and Ray are all in but Alex doesn't want a piece. Greg 9 9 and Ray A 5. Flop was made for Greg 9 5 A, turning a Q then a 7 for the river. Ray is gone burger and finishes 3rd.

Only Greg and Alex left. they look evenly stacked but Greg is a tad ahead. They're both all in. Alex with K 10 and Greg A J. One of the sickest flops we've seen this year, Q Q Q...5...2. Funnily enough Greg is our winner with trips, A high.

Well done Greg and thank you to all those that played.

Bang for Buck for Thursday's $10 Re-buy!

What a night??

Although the Dunedin Casino Thursday $10 Turbo started with only 5 players, it got up to 18 players and it still managed to turn a total prize pool of $720 (with PK03 being a very aggressive table with a total of 31 re buys alone.)

The final table saw overall winner Nick Kennedy taking down 6 of the final 10 players alone and building himself a huge chip stack.

Down to our final 3 players with Noel all in against Nick, Noel caught a J on the flop but was run down on the turn with Nick holding an A.

This left Nick heads up against Jake McDonald.  Again Nicks chip stack was massive with Jake really needing to double up for a chance.

Final Hand saw Jake with A,7 up against Nick with J,J.  The flop came 4-5-10, the turn a 2 and the river a K, making Nick's J,J good and $360 heavier in the pocket.  Not bad for a $10 Turbo tournament and under 3 hours worth of play!

Thursday Night Turbo Hold'em Tournament Winner

Final results:

1st  $360  Nick Kennedy
2nd $216  Jake McDonald
3rd  $144 Noel Latta

Great night with plenty of action from all.  Thursday $10 Turbo is on every Thursday night starting at 8pm.

Huge turnout for Wednesday Classic

Tonight we had a total of 35 Players in our $2000 guaranteed Wednesday Classic. The Prizepool got close to $3000.

Top five this week were; Rayel, Will, Gary, Tumua and Ryan.

5th place went to Gary who was in a 3 way pot with Will and Rayel. No one hit on the flop or river, Will hit a nice pair of Kings on the River, it was strong enough for the pot and a triple up for him.

Tumua went home with 4th, after finding himself short stacked and looking down at a King. K3 vs Ryan with 88. 6 2 A Q T on the board. The King missed and Ryan took out the pot with his Eights.

Next out, finishing in 3rd, was Rayel. He started the hand with a raise into Will, who pushed him all in pre-flop. J9 against A6. If the ace wasn't scary enough, two more came on the flop, 3 A A, 7 9. Triple Aces took the pot.

Heads up this week we had, Will with 80% chips in play, and Ryan. Will shoved all in with Q7 and got a call from Ryan with A7. The queen came on the flop, Q 6 2, the River and turn were of no use to Ryan, K T.

Well done to Will for a great Tournament. Thanks to everyone who turned out this week for a great night.
