$20 Wednesday Tournament, good turnout.

We weren't expecting too much interest so soon after Christmas, we had a few players asking, so we put something together :) We ran a $20 R&A this week and with 20 players we got a final prize pool of just under $1,400.

Of the 20 who entered, it came down to four placings for the cash: Fraser, Andy, Tumua and Martin.

The game stood still for around 30 minutes until the final four hands.

In 4th place was Martin, who went head to head with the other big stack, Fraser. KQ vs 77. The community cards came out, A-2-3-5-J. The pair of 7's was strong enough for Fraser, the chip count was very close but Martin was just covered. A nice effort for his 1st attempt at one of our tournys.

The very next hand, the field shortened again! This time Andy gets involved with his 99.  Sadly he was up against bullets.  2-K-6-T-T, no 9 but Andy still took home a nice 3rd.

The next deal caused another pre-flop all-in.  Tumua pushed with KQ and got called by 52.  Tumua hit his Queen on the flop but still had to dodge an open-ender by the river to secure the pot, but the Q held and he managed to double up his small stack.

The very next hand, both players all-in again!  This time a fairer race, Tumua with 44 vs Fraser with 97.  The cards came out 9-3-J-5-8.  Fraser managed to hit his 9 on the flop and it held.  Another 1st timer to our tournaments, nice hit rate!

Damien The Bounty Hunter

Tonight's Thursday Turbo only had 16 players but we had 50 rebuys giving us a price pool of almost $800. We also had a $50 bounty on Tumua's head.

Top four were Damien L, Ji M, Tumua I, Sammy C.

Damien gets it all in with Q8 against Tumuas 97 and Sammys J10 and when the board pairs his queen he knocks out
Tumua, taking his bounty just one place away from getting it himself. This also crippled Sammy leaving him with very few chips.

Sammy shoves the rest of his chips in with A8 and Damien calls with Q2 hoping the queen will come through for him again but this time its the two that he hits on the flop. Sammy doesn't hit anything and is out in 3rd place.

Heads up between Damien and Ji last for a while until Damien manages to finally get Ji down to just a single Big Blind forcing him to go all in with K8. Damien calls with 46 and hits his 4 to take the win. Damien takes 1st place and Tumua's bounty, well done!

Peasant finds a way into the castle

Tonight we had 21 players sign up for the Wednesday $30 R/A. The prize-pool got to $2340.

Top four in the $$ this week were, Greg, Alex, Sheldon and Andrew.

4th place went to Andrew, he pushed it in pre-flop for 11,500 with A5 and got the call from Greg with *the mutt* K9 off. Greg spied a King in the window and his pair held up.

Three way play went on for over an hour, at stages the players were almost dead even.

The next out in 3rd place was Greg.  Alex shoved and Greg called him with A5 - Alex had K7.  Community cards came out 7 Q 5 6 T. Alex's pair of 7 was good enough to send Greg home.

Final two were Sheldon and the Peasant himself, 9-4 pro, Alex El-Mayo.  The final hand was a real tribute to the Peasant community of Dunedin and abroad.  Pre-flop, Sheldon limps on the button, Alex checks.  Flop 3 9 3. High Peasant Alex checks, a bet is sent his way from Sheldon, Alex calls.  The turn a 6, the river a 10.  Alex gathers his chips and goes all-in. Sheldon calls and reveals 2 bullets.  In true Peasant style, Alex reveals the pre-flop nuts.... 3 4 off.  Well done to Alex and all his loyal fans.

Tumua The Triumphant

Small game this Thursday, with only 13 players showing up.

Final 3 were Thom H, Ji M and Tumua I.

First out was Ji when he calls Thom going all in. Ji was holding A,7 and Thom Q,K and he hits his Q on the flop and it holds.

Last hand Thom and Tumua limp in. Flop comes 10,7,7 Turn comes a 6 and Tumua bets 10K. Thom ships and is insta called. Tumua rolls his 10,7 over and Thom flips A,6. Thom is dead by now but manages an A on the river so he at least gets 2 pair. Well done Tumua, winning with a boat, 7's over 10's.

22 entries in the $2,000 guaranteed

Tonight we had 22 entries and paid out $2000. The pot didn't quite make it to $2k so we added some cash to the prizepool.

Top five this week were, Chris S, Chris R, Greg S, Sheldon and Brendan.

Brendan knocks out the classic champ on the bubble when his A2 holds against Sheldons KQ.

Soon after Chris S ships it with Q9 into Scottys AK and knocks himself out when Greg hits a King on the flop, 9 K 7 7 4.

After a deal is cut Brendan ships with 89 and Scotty calls with A5 but when the flop gives Brendan trip 8s and the turn boats him up with a 9 its down to the final two.

Chris R gets it all in with 78 hoping to take the lead from Brendan calling reluctantly with pocket deuces. Chris flops a gutty but when a two comes on the turn and Brendan dodges the 6 on the river we have a winner of the penultimate Wednesday $30 tournament.

Xmas Classic Final 2016

A few late arrivals and one substitution, but otherwise the Xmas Classic Grand Final kicked off on time and hosted a full field of 30 entrants, and, with a prize pool exceeding $6,000, it was well worth the effort for a lucky few.

Short Field, Juicy Pot.

We had 18 players tonight at the $600 guaranteed $10 Turbo tonight. The prize pool
ended up just shy of $700.

Top three this week were Danny, Charlotte and Jake.

in 3rd was Jake who went all-in UTG with 88 vs AQ. Board came out A 7 6, K and on the river.... a Q! Bad luck Jake.

Top two agreed to a deal of $250 each and to play it out for the rest. Final hand was between Danny and Charlotte. Dan had AQ and Charlotte had Q9. Community cards were, 3 7 2 9 J. The nine of the turn was good enough to take the Victory for Charlotte. A double knockout was also done a few hands earlier by Charlotte with KK.

Well done Charlotte, nice to see you in the money$$$.

Peasant to King

Tonight we had 18 players and a prizepool of just under $2200.

Final four this week were, Alex the 9-4 Peasant Maynard, Sheldon, Alex H and a DC tourny 1st timer Mel.

There were only three prizes this week and Sheldon was unlucky and bubbled in a race between 7,7 and Q,9. Alex M flopped a pair of 9's and it held up for him.

Alex the Peasant set his sights on Alex H and took him out when he paired his King and it held.

Final two were Alex M and Mel. The chips got in pre-flop, Alex with J,9. Mel with 7,10. the table came out 10 4 8 A 7. At a glance, Mel looked good with two pair but Alex had managed to snag a straight on the river.

Well done to Alex! I'm sure your fans and the community at Peasant Poker will be very excited about this result.

Tumua Too Good

A shorter field of just 15 tonight with the top 3 being Sammy, Tumua and Sheldon.

Sammy goes all in blind with T,2 for less than BB and Sheldon calls with J,4.  Flop rolls Q-J-8.  Looking strong for Sheldon.  Turn is a T which helps Sammy, but unfortunately the river delivers an 8 giving Sheldon 2 pair, J's and 8's.

Final hand Tumua and Sheldon limp into the flop with the cards on the board being Q-9-3.  Both end up all in and Tumua flips over top pair, to Sheldon's middle pair.  Turn is a T, not looking good for Sheldon.  River puts out a 6 to give Tumua Q's and 6's and 1st place with Sheldon taking 2nd.

Radel Wins Everything

With many signing up days in advance, the Final Classic Qualifier amassed 31 entries and a monster prize pool of $2,838.  A couple of people busted out early and didn't stick around for add-ons, while the majority played it out and got as many chips as they could.  Tonight there were also knockout bounties worth 50 points for each scalp you get!
The final five this week were, Ross, Sheldon, Karl, Tumua and Jake.
In fifth was Sheldon who went head to head with Karl in a rollercoaster hand.  Sheldon had QhTh and Karl had AhKd.  The flop rolled out 4-2-5 (two hearts) turn came the 3 of hearts to give Sheldon his flush and Karl a straight.  River came 7h which gave Karl the Ace high flush and the knockout bonus.
Forth went to Jake who called Ross with J7 when he went all in with pocket 9's.  Board:  6-4-10-9-5. Set came on the turn for Ross, even though he didn't need it and Ross takes another knockout for the tournament.
Karl and Tumua were next to go head to head, Karl on AQ and Tumua holding JT.  Karl flopped a pair of Queens and Tumua hit his Jack on the turn.  Pair of queens held up when the river blanked.
Last two to play it out were Ross and Karl, and after a few folds they decided to get it all in.  Ross is holding KQ, while Karl has K8.  The flop looked good for Ross, 2-5-9. The turn was an 8 giving Ross just a Queen to win.  A duck on the river and Karl took the 1st + another knockout + top finisher on the leaderboard, automatically netting him $450 cash!
Well done Karl on dominating another knockout bonus tournament.

Deepstack Hyper Turbo no problem for $ugar_$hum

Two tables kicked off at 8pm and by 8:30pm we had 16 players in total.  4 players were felted in the the first half hour, but used their second chance to extend their tournament.  This gave us a prize pool of $340 for a cheap and fun 2 hour tournament.

And the winner of our third and final $20 Sit'n'Go for the week, none other than $ugar_$hum himself, well done.

We're going to take a few days off now, and we'll be resuming on Wednesday with the last Classic qualifier tournament, worth 50 bonus points for the top 10 players as well as a 50 point bounty on everyone's head.  It'll be the last chance to earn points for the year and the leaderboard will be published shortly after the tournament ends.

Good luck everyone.

Chad Tastes Victory

The second of our weekend Sit-n-go's gave Chad his much desired win and he was keen to get some photographic proof!

Chad is now holding a comfortable top 20 position on the Classic Leaderboard, and is looking forward to taking a shot at the $6k Classic Grand Final coming up in a few weeks.

All the best Chad and well done tonight.

Todd Tops the Turbo

This Thursday Turbo we had a total of 32 players with the top 5 being Danny, Todd, Ray, Jason and Charlotte.

First of the knockout hands saw Todd under the gun betting $20K only for Charlotte to push for around $55K.  Todd thinks for a few seconds and calls.  Charlotte rolls over pocket 5's and Todd shows pocket 9's.  Flop comes out 4,3,2, putting Todd ahead but giving Charlotte a straight draw.  Turn comes a 7, river a 3, no help to anyone and Todd's 9's hold up sending Charlotte out on 5th.

Up next Danny with A,6 goes all in on the button for around $15K to be called by Ray on BB who has J,10.  The flop misses everyone leaving Danny ahead for a brief moment but then Ray has some luck and hits both live cards with runner runner T, J to win with two pair.

Next up Ray and Jason go all in, Ray with K,7 and Jason with K,10.  Flop is dealt out A,6,J, not helping Ray but giving Jason a gutshot draw.  Ray picks up a 7 on the turn and river is no help sending Jason home in 3rd position.

Last hand of the night Todd bets out $20K and Ray shoves only to be insta-called by Todd.  Ray's holding K,Q but Todd has A,8.  Flop comes out 3,7,A putting Todd firmly ahead.  Turn is a J giving Ray a gutshot, but the board holds with a rag river and Todd's Aces are good.

Congratulations Todd! And well done to everyone.

Will's Little Slick Hold's Up

Tonight we had a short field due to the big concert in town, the pot still made it just shy of $2200 and there were a couple of new faces.

Top four this week were, Brendan, Danny, Ross and Will.

The final hand of the night was between Will and Danny, holding little slick and dead man's hand respectively.  The board came 4-T-T-T-9 giving Danny kicker trouble and Will the win.

After a slow start to the season, Will is quickly catching up, but is it too little too late?  One more round to go, and with 50 bounty points on everyone's head, it's going to come right down to the wire.

Top Pair Takes It

Image Archives
Thursday Turbo this week we had 34 players with a player busting out every 5 minutes!

The top 5 were Miles W, Tumua, Sheldon E, Justin D and Josh A.

First hand we had Miles who went all in blind for 2.5 BB with K,9 against Tumua with K,Q. Miles didn't get there though and got 5th place.

Next up Josh holding J,J and Sheldon with A,9 are all in. Flop comes 10 8 8. Turn is a 6, Sheldon now looking for a 7 for the gutshot. The river delivers a J, giving Josh a set and sending Sheldon out on 4th.

The next knockout hand Justin (J,9) and Tumua (K,Q) are in a hand together with flop being J 7 5. The turn rolls a Q causing Justin to go all in and getting called. A T on the river means Tumua wins with a pair of Q's and Justin gets 3rd place.

Final hand of the night Josh limps in and Tumua checks it. On the flop we get Q 7 A. Josh then pushes all in, Tumua takes his time with calling but does so in the end. Josh is holding Q,9 so he's hit his Q, but Tumua flips over A,3... Turn and river are 6,8, so Josh gets 2nd place and Tumua gets 1st, winning with a pair of A's. Well done guys!!

A Chip and a Chair

Tonight we had a total of 26 players and a prize pool of $2288.

There was a bit of a lull when we got down to seven players and nobody busted out for over an hour!

Final five this week were, Greg, Karl, Andrew, Ray and Ross.

Scotty was out in 5th place and although there was not paid out this week, the final five had agreed to pay out $25 each to the bubble. He went out after he found himself with a short stack and he had gone all-in blind with K,3. The community cards came 4 9 9 9 7 and Ray had a full house on the river when his seven hit.

Soon after, Ray and Andrew went head to head with A,7 and A,J. The board revealed 5 3 T, 6, 3. the Jack kicker played for Andrew and he sent Ray home.

Ross Called a push with J,rag from Andrew with 9,T of diamonds. The flop came two diamonds and also an open ender for Ross. The turn was nice enough to complete Ross' hand with another Diamond. The river not so kind... A 4th diamond came into play and Andrew's Jack just happened to be the Jack of diamonds. Next hand Ross was down to less than a BB and was forced all-in. The board had a four card straight on it and Ross managed to hit the seven, the bottom end of it... Sadly again for Ross this wasn't good enough and Andrew had the Queen high end. Bad luck Ross.

Final two were Andrew and Karl (who had made an impressive recovery from a single $5K chip) The two got it all in, Karl with A,5 spades vs Andrew with Q,T off. Community cards came K 3 J, 4, 4. Karl dodges the open ender on the flop and manages to take home 1st with his high Ace playing. Well done Karl, nice to see another winners pic!

Keep Your Eye on the Prize

Sure, the top 30 Dunedin Casino Poker players will be duking it out for a share of over $6,000, but we all know the real prize is the bracelet and the bragging rights that let's face it will last longer than the prize money.

Just a reminder, the top 20 players qualify for the Xmas Classic Final, and the next 30 players will have to battle it out for the remaining 10 seats.

Click on the Leaderboard link above for more details and your current position.  Only the top 150 names are published.

Chris On Form

Tonight's $10 tournament had 32 entries and a prize pool over $1000!

Final five were, Andrew, Chris, Gert, Hayden and Miles.

5th prize was Gert who was up against Chris. Gert had A,2 vs Shum's A,K. The flop came out 9 3 5 with two clubs, 4 of clubs on the turn and a 10 of clubs on the river. Chris had the Ace of clubs and took down the pot.

The next big clash was between Hayden and Andrew. Hayden went all in with J Q UTG and got called all-in for less by Andrew with A 8. Dealer flopped out 10 3 8, Ace on the turn pairing Andrew up. River came the King to fill in the gap on Hayden's straight, sending Andrew home.

Shum pushed all in on Miles' BB and with almost half his chips already in the pot he called with 10 3 vs Chris' Q Q. K 6 K 9 8 on the board and the Queens held up for Chris.

Some very strong heads up play tonight between Hayden and Chris. Hayden went all in on his BB and Shum could smell a weaker Queen then his and called Hayden and his Q 5 out with his vastly superior Q 6. the flop brought another 6 out along with a 3 and a 4, giving Hayden an open ender. The turn popped out a 9 and so did the river. No straight for Hades, bad luck mate.

Well done Chris!

Rayel for the Win

We had 25 players tonight in the weekly classic creating a total prize pool of $2134.  Final table also scored 100 bonus points this week.

Top 4 were, Danny, Rayel, Ray and Will.

Danny found himself severely short stacked and UTG and shipped it in the dark with 1/3rd BB.  After the flop, Rayel isolated it with A,Q (2 overs to the board).  Danny looked down and had 2 live cards, K,7.  Danny didn't hit on the turn or river but was happy with 4th.

Ray had a go at taking some blinds and went all in pre-flop with 7,5 and got called by Rayel with A,3 spades.  Flop came 4s,Js,3, turn a Q and river the 5s.  Ray was pleased to see his pair of 5’s on the river, until he realised that it made Rayel's Flush.  Ray went home with 3rd and a decent chunk of points for his first week back after a break.

Heads up was between Rayel and last week’s $10 turbo winner, Will.  They played out for around 20 minutes until the deciding hand.  Blinds were 5,000/10,000.  Will raised on the small blind and got a re-raise by Rayel to put him all in.  Will insta-called showing A,K with Rayel holding A,10.  The flop missed everyone, but the turn hit Rayel and he scooped the pot with a pair of Ts.

A nice result for Rayel after putting the table under a lot of pressure during final table.  Also kudos to Will for getting a 1st and a 2nd in back to back tournaments!

Where There's A Will, There's A Way

We had a total of 31 players in the $10 Turbo tonight. Prize pool over $1000.

Final 5 were, Adam, Chad, Chris, Gavin and Will.

Going home with 5th prize was Adam who called off what looked like a pot stealing bet with his Middle pair.. Sadly for him, Will had top pair of Queens and he took down the pot.

Will also knocked Chad out for 4th prize, soon after. This brought Wills stack up to around 2/3 total chips in play, three handed.

Gavin got it all in pre with a short stack and 6,6. Chris called him with two overs, J,9. Chris hit as much as he could without actually hitting 10 8 5 (open ender and two overs) The straight came on the turn for Chris by way of the Queen. Needless to say, the straight was good.

Final two, Chris and Will. Chips went back and forward for a few hands until Chris tried to steal Wills blinds and went all in. Chris had 10,7 and Will had called with A,5. The board came 3 8 5, 8, Q. The Ace played and after dominating final table, Will took home a well deserved 1st. Nice!

Michael for the Win

Good times for the Wednesday Classic tonight! Our top 4 being Karl R, Pete H, Michael O and Scotty.

Firstly, well done to Karl for the most knockouts, He knocked out a whopping 9 people, or 1/3 of the tournament!

Fourth prize goes to Pete. With Pete under the gun he bets $15K to have Karl ship all in, Pete responds with a snap call! Pete flips over A,4 suited and Karl rolls over bullets! Board comes 8,2,J,10,J rainbow. Cheers for playing Pete.

Next person out is Scotty who goes all in on the small blind for $7K to be called by both Michael and Karl. Board comes 2,3,K,A,J, checked all the way. Scotty shows pocket 8's but is disappointed when Michael flicks over his A,9 off to win with a pair of Aces.

Final hand of the night Karl on small blind shoves with A,8 off and is insta-called by Michael with A,9 off! On the flop we have J,K,7, putting Michael slightly ahead. Turn is rolls a 5, this doesn't help Karl. Lastly the river is a 3, which of course means Michael wins the tournament with A high! Congrats to Michael and his faithful Spidey.

Jason wins the Spring $250 Deepstack

One out before the break, drawing to a flush, bringing us down to a field of 17 playing it off for $4150 with $2070 for 1st.

Brown eyes (Rayel), sitting pretty with a double stack. Brendan also sitting on 2x stack.
D wells around 6k stack, searching for a double up.

Ross is the 1st to push it all in, no caller but takes 2500 in chips.

Karl took Aaron out.

Ross called Sheldon’s all in with his pocket 99 and Sheldon had 88, three 3s on the table but no 8s. Sheldon was next out.

Kev and Chris got it all in pre with AQ vs AK, the kicker held up and Kev was next out.

Rayel flopped top pair King kicker and pushed into Rosco, Ross called with top set and got a double up with his 9k stack.

Hayden pushed for 4800 (AJ), Danny called all in for 2800(AQ clubs), and Rosco called 4800 (6,8) Rosco turned 2 pair and took out Hayden but Danny got his final club on the river and took 2800 x 3, plus the blinds.

Scotty pushed with a small stack and an open ender, got called by Jason with 2 pair on a paired board. The straight didn't arrive and Jason scooped the chips.

Chris and Thanh got it all in, Chris with 66, Thanh with JJ. Thanh flopped his set and turned a boat and there was no hope for Chris by the river.

Danny’s stack had dwindled again and he got himself all in with KQ vs Mark with 77. Danny flopped his pair of Kings, by the turn Mark had an open ender and a flush draw, a 4 came on the river with competed the low end of the straight.

10 players left

Huge hand, the two big stacks tangled with nut flush vs 2nd nut flush... Jason scooped an 80k pot. Thanh left with around 17k chips.

Roller coaster hand next. Kirby and Thanh all in. JJ both red VS AA both black, flop an ace and two other diamonds (set vs 4 card flush) turn another diamond! Kirby made her flush. The river... a 3.. Pairing the board, giving Thanh his full house! A bit of a fml hand for Kirby but a nice pair to go out on.

Rayel got knocked out AK vs KK when he tangled with Mark and his big stack.

Two big stacks on the final table, Jason and Mark, both on around $80k.

Next out was another big hand. 77 vs JJ. Brendan's sevens got called by Mark with a big stack and two Jacks. Mark hit his set on the flop and Brendan got some salt in the wound when he hit his smaller set on the river.

Very next hand. Charlotte all in with TT vs AQ clubs. Nut flush on the flop by Jason, the turn and river were no help for Charlotte.

Michael got a double up off a big stack with JJ getting him back in the game with around $30k chips.

Rich get richer.. Jason calls Karl's all in with KK and it holds up. Down to six players.

Thanh gets unlucky with a preflop bluff when Mark looks down to see AA and takes his chips.

Final Four, everyone agrees for a deal for 4th to get there buy-in back.

From a very small stack, Ross gets up to $35k after getting two double ups from Mark. Very generous.

Michael bubbled but got his money back, with the deal. QQ vs Q8

Jason on monster stack, around 170k, Ross on around 40k and Mark around 60k

Over three blind levels Ross manages to earn his way up and over $100k.

Ross's stack dwindled and he ended up all in vs Jason for $20k. Jason with AJ, Ross A6. Flop came a Jack and it didn't improve for Ross on the turn or river. 3rd prize was still a juicy $830

Final 2 made a deal for 1700 and 1500 and play it out for 1st.

Both got all in soon after. Jason with A4, Mark with A6, the 4 hit and held for Jason. With the deal Mark wasn't too upset about his 6 high not holding.

It was a great day of poker and very entertaining to watch. Special thanks to everyone who came out to play and to the dealers, Sam, Sean, Troy and Megan!

An 11:1 chip lead and a little luck...

Tonight we had 33 players play in the tournament, with a few more in the waiting list that didn't get the chance for a seat. Total prize pool of $1032

Greg, Jesse, Josh, Nick and Todd made it to the final five.

Jesse decides to shove, hoping for a call...Josh calls, Greg and Nick fold. Jesse has A,J going up against Josh's A 4.  Flop is shown A,3,4..Josh has the percentage. 7 on the turn, Josh still hanging in there. He needs this or he's out of the tourney. Turn comes...4. Josh doubles up with trips.

Two hands later we have another all in and a caller. This time between Greg and Nick. Greg is all in with pocket Ks. Nick has called with 10,J. the flop comes and it's 2,J,6. Greg ahead. Turn is a 7. Greg still ahead and needing this win to stay in the game. Nick has 2 outs. Can he get a 10 or J. Here comes the river....J. Nick has busted Greg out of the tourney for 4th place.

Showdown between Jesse and Josh now. Jesse is all in with 9,8. Josh has K,9. The flop is 2,9,7. Josh slightly ahead. The turn is a K which has given Josh the win and there's still the river to come. It's a J. Jesse finishes up in 3rd.

Last two standing at around 23:30 between Josh and Nick fighting for the 1st place. Josh had about 25k and Nick had about 280k chips and the blinds were 3k/6k. Josh doubled up his stack three times making him positioned ahead of Nick at one stage. But Nick has made a come back at the end with a leading stack. In the last hand Josh pushed all-in pre-flop around 80k stack with (A,3) versus Nick's (10,Q) 220k stack. Community cards dealt 5,9,10,8,9 made Nick winning the first place of tonight's tournament.

Congratulations to Nick, well done!!!

Down to Rags...

We had 28 Players turn up tonight to play it out for a prize pool just shy of $2500.

Final five this week were, Andrew A, Carsten, Chris S, Danny and Jason S.

Andrew went all-in pre for 2.5 BB UTG and Chris called for just around 2 BB. Andrew with AQ vs QJ hearts. Chris flopped a flush draw and Andrew flopped a pair to his Ace. Turn came a Jack which also paired up Chris but neither the flush or another Jack came on the river, so Chris took 5th.

The next knockout came from a three way all-in, Jason, Danny and Cartsen, A10, KK, AQ respectively. Danny had the middle stack with KK and was happy to see a low board: 2 4 3, 9, 4. Cartsen took home 4th prize and Jason took a hit to his stack.

Andrew pushed pre-flop with 4,3 and was unlucky when he ran into a monster, Jason called him with KK. Andrew was dead to a chop on the flop, it came 10 K J, Turn an Ace, no Queen on the river, just a 10. Jason completed his full house and sent Andrew home 3rd with just under $400.

Heads up play went back in forward over three all-in hands. Jason started with 190k vs Danny's 70k chips. 1st hand, Danny doubled up with a pairs of 9's when Jason missed with two overs. 2nd hand, Jason fought back and took his chips back with a pair of johnnies.

The final hand was a battle of the rags with Jason 4,5 and Danny 6,9. Chips were all in blind after a deal had been arranged. The board came, A 8 5 8 10. Jason took it out with a pair of 5's.

Well done Jason!

He who must not be named...

Artists Impression
Just a small Thursday $10 Turbo tonight with only 24 players. Where were all you fella's??  Anyway the final 4 were Bardy, Jesse, T.I and Danny W.

Danny pushes with K,2 to be called by Bardy with pocket 10's, two J's on the flop and nothing useful on the turn or river leaving Danny out cold on 4th.

Next hand up Jesse (holding 4,5) shoves to try steal blinds but not so fast! T.I snaps with A,7. Flop comes J,9,Q. Still any one's game. Another Q on the turn, still a chance... But nope, 10 on the river sending Jesse home and T.I to the top 2 with Bardy.

Heads up now and Bardy limps into the flop. Flop comes out K,8,6. Now we get an all in from Bardy and T.I calls. Cards roll and Bardy flips A,4 off and T.I with 7.8 off. This puts T.I in the lead with a pair of 8's. Turn and river come 10,3 giving T.I the win!! Well done!!

Gary takes the points

Another great turn out for the Wednesday Poker Tourney seeing 3 full tables competing for the main prize of over $1000 for first!

The Barron returned to defend his win from last week but was knocked out in the early stages.  There were 5 prizes up for grabs this week with a total of 30 players. The 5 were Ray W, Danny W, Jason S, Sheldon E and Gary T.

It's getting late into the tourney and Danny goes all in pre flop. Danny short stacked is looking for someone to call and Sheldon does so. Danny has A K off, Sheldon A 6 suited. Flop comes, 3 5 2 turn 9, river an 8. Danny doubles his stack with A high K kicker.

Sheldon now short stacked shoves pre with A 10. Brave call by Jason with A 2. Community cards 9 9 3 4 10. Sheldon doubles up his stack with 2 pair.

Now we see Ray make a move, Gary still quietly folding away.
Ray has shoved with A 7 and a confident call by Sheldon with K Q. Flop is looking good for Ray, A 4 7. Turn 10 river 3. Ray takes this one with 2 pair. Still 5 in play and the stacks seem to be going back and forth.

Jason has a dabble and pushes all of his chips to the middle of the table. Sheldon can't help but call. Jason has pocket 10's and Sheldon Q 10. The flop is 2 Q 4 followed by 9 then another Q. Sheldon is happy to take the pot.

Some big action now as we see a 3 way all-in. Ray 7 3 diamonds, Danny K 8 off and Jason A 4 off..Flop J 10 3 hearts. Ray ahead with a small pair. Turn 5. Ray still ahead. Danny looking for a K and Jason has a gut shot or a flush draw. River 7 hearts. Ray has 2 pair, Danny K high and Jason takes this one with A high flush and knocks out Ray for 5th place.

Down to 4, Danny shoves A 7 off and an eventual call by Jason with pocket Js. J 2 8 on the flop. All spades. Danny has an A spade looking for that one more while Jason wants to pair the board.Turn 3 river 9. Jason takes this one with top set and sends Danny packing in forth.

One of the longest tournaments we've had and the last three decide to do a deal and play for the points and the famous photo. The chips are back and forth until Jason calls Sheldon's shove. This is all or nothing for Sheldon. Jason has pocket Ks and Sheldon A J. 2 4 2 6 5 gives Jason 2 pair.

Down to Jason and Gary now. For the points they both go all in blind. Jason has J 9 suited and Gary A 6. We see the flop now, 5 10 3. Gary ahead with A high. Turn 6, small pair for Gary. River K. Gary takes the win with a pair of 6s. Well done Gary and those for making it to the final table.

Jesse beats a field of 36

Another big night tonight of the $10 R/A Thursday poker tourney with 36 players wanting a piece of the prize pool which was considerably more than the guarantee.

There were 5 prizes to be won today, Gary T taking out 5th prize followed by Jason T taking 4th.  Only 3 players left, Sammy short stacked for the majority of his time on the final table. A few good shoves and some lucky flops saw Sammy creep up in to the top 3. Joining him were Brendan N and Jesse R both pretty evenly stacked.

Sammy short stacked shoves with K 10. Jesse calls with 9 5. Flop shows 6 4 8. Jesse looking for a gut shot. Q on the turn then a 6.  Sammy wins with a pair of 6, K kicker.

Sammy's stack increases somewhat but as the tourney progresses the chips are slowly diminishing with increasing blinds and antes.

Another shove by Sammy sees Jesse call again. This time Sammy has A 6 off against Jesse's J 2 suited. Cards come to the middle of the table. 7 A 3. Pair for Sammy so far, no chance of a flush. 5 on the turn and a 4 on the river. Sammy's luck still with him as he wins this one with a straight 3-7. The stacks are yo-yoing between Sammy and Jesse while Brendan is playing it cool.

Into round 18 at this point and Jesse has opted to go all in pre flop with A 8 off. Brendan calls with A 4 off. 10 K Q, turn 10. Could it be a split pot? No! An 8 on the river gives Jesse 2 pair and a boost in chips. This could be the boost Jesse needs.

A lot of shoving going on, Sammy again with A 7 suited. Jesse cant help but call with A 2. Board has 7 6 9 6 4. Pair for Sammy and increases his stack.

Round 19, shove by Brendan with a dominant hand J 10 - an easy call by Jesse with pocket 4s. Flop 6 8 2 turn Q river to be an A. Jesse sends Brendan packing, placing 3rd with a pair of 4s.

Next hand heads up, Sammy and Jesse. Sammy has done extremely well to get to where he is, starting the final table with 9K. Jesse goes all in with an A 2 suited only to be called by Sammy with 10 7. Flop is 8 3 3. Turn J and river Q. Jesse wins the tourney with an A high flush! Congratulations Jesse and the top 5 players.

The Barron and his K9

Grueling Wednesday Classic this week, with the short stacks swapping back and forward a lot just before bubble.

Top 4 for this week were Brendan Ng, Ryan H, Peter Ba and Andrew A.

First out was Ryan, who ships it with A,8 off and gets called by Brendan with A,10 suited. Board comes 4,7,7,which didn't help Ryan. Turn comes a 3, making it look rather grim. 9 on the river moves Brendan to Top 3 and Ryan heading home.

Up next Brendan shoves pre-flop with A,5 off to get called by Andrew with Q,J off. 3,3,9 on the flop gives neither in a firm lead. 10 on the turn giving Andrew a chance for a straight. River comes another 10... Andrew unfortunately loses this one and is out at 3rd place.

Heads up between Brendan and Peter now. Peter goes all in with pocket 9's. Brendan calls very aggressively with pocket 6's. 9's hold and Brendan loses 90% of his stack, The 6's didn't work so well this week.

Brendan later on with a much shorter stack pushes pre-flop with Q,6 to be called by Peter's K,9 off. The board comes A,K,10, Giving Peter the lead, Still, a gut-shot could hit for Brendan. On the turn we get a Q. This gives Brendan another out, but the river comes a 7. Peter wins the Wednesday Classic with "The Mutt" Well done Peter!!
